I'm writing a mystery (definitely NOT a criminal) and I want to know if there are any drugs out there that will dissolve in liquid and is tasteless enough to not be noticed. Plus if anyone knows of said drug that causes addiction (as in needing to drink all of the poisoned liquid) in a short period of time?? I would really appreciated it if someone could come up with something for me! Will reward best answer!!

  1. hmmmm... there was a story about a woman who used a leg of lamb and then cooked it for the police,  maybe you could use a leg of turkey???

  2. Highly doubtful... most poisons (and drugs) are bitter, and most would be able to be tasted...

Worst comes to worst, "invent" one for the story. You can go to almost any library and look through a Physician's Desk Reference for ideas on the wording of your "new" drug information, as well as getting info on drug classes and categories to put yours in.

  3. classically arsenic..  the draw back is that it is usually a slow poison and detectable.

DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) is  favorless and an excellent drug delivery system. it is absorbed into the skin and can cross membranes.

Cyanide masked by almonds.. again easily detectable in tests.

Seeds of the Yew are quickly fatal if ingested.

Angel's Trumpet is a plant grown as decoration and contains scopolamine and atropine.  Ingestion is frequently fatal.

Similar are Datura and Deadly Nightshade.

Foxglove can induce cardiac problems and can be fatal.

Oleander is the deadliest plant in the world..

Yellow jessamine.. it is possible to be poisoned from the honey made from it.

these are just a few suggestions..
