  1. Craigslist is an excellent source for rental information in most cities. Have you tried just entering Apts. for rent in Palo Alto into your search bar? You may get some hits by trying that. Short of looking in the local paper, I can't think of any other way. You can look for Rental Assistance agencies in the phone book in that area, or if you've good credit, apply with a couple of Property Managment companies locally. If your'e worried about living alone, check into renting a room from somebody, that way you'll have someone to help out with learning your way around. Good luck, CA is not an easy place to find good AFFORDABLE housing.

  2. I have had luck in the past with www.roommates.com.

  3. Craigslist is a great option for finding an apartment rental. I've also had a lot of success with www.ApartmentsInSanFranciscoCa.com they have apartment rentals all over in the greater Bay Area.
