I know they have these things but have no idea who makes them or what they are called. I just want something my kids can plug into the video input on the TV and draw and possibly save to memory card or something. Any suggestions or input? Thank you!

  1. Most things like that that I can find are more for the computer, called Graphics Tablets.  I can see where using the tv would be better for kids something with a simpler interface, setup etc.

There was a video game system back in the '80s called the Vectrex that had something similar, with a "light pen" that let you draw directly on the screen.  Unfortunately those are somewhat of collector's items now and can be pretty pricy on ebay when they can even be found. (plus they'd have all the wonderful graphics quality of the 1980s)

Everything else I have found so far is for the computer.  Sure sounds like a good idea though maybe you should patent it. :)

I'll come back & edit this if I come across anything more.

    Found this here:

don't know what age range you're shooting for but it does hook up to the tv.  The review was less than glowing though

" VTech's Learning Pad ($100), designed for ages 5 to 8, is a colorful QWERTY keyboard with attached drawing pad that uses your television screen for its display. Hookup cables and stylus are included, but you need either six "D" batteries (non-rechargeable) or a 9-volt AC adaptor for operation. The Learning Pad was simple to install, but whenever we tipped it forward, it shut off.

Built-in activities include an Art Studio for drawing and animation..."

I looked around more at vtech and found this one, connects directly to the tv, but I'm not sure how it works, looks like it maybe just takes a picture of what's on the table?
