Looking for a Javascript tutorial/book...

I'm looking for a specific javascript tutorial or book that deals with graphics. To be specific, I want to do basically what flash does to enhance websites, most importantly making a smooth slideshow of pictures on a side of the website, or such like that.

Can anyone find a tutorial or book that deals with things like that?
