  1. Go to monster.com or careerbuilder.com.  They have postings in all areas.

A misdemeanor isn't that big a deal.  As long as its disclosed ahead of time, your friend will probably be ok.

Of course, if its a bad check or anything financial, there may be a problem working at any financial institution or in retail where $ is involved.

    Good luck.

  2. Your friend can register at Career Builder.com.  This site post jobs throughout the United States and your friend can have job opening sent to his email address.

Career Builder allows you to post your resume on-line so that employers can view your resume.  Career Builder also allow you to send resumes to potential employers for job openings and cover letters.

Career Builder even allow you to customize, job specific.  In other words, which job opening you prefer to receive in your email box.

There is also a search feature that allows you to search for a specific job and location.

Your friend can received job openings everyday at Career Builder.com

  3. His local employment office is a good place to start. They can connect him with an employer who is willing to work with people who have criminal records, and coach him on how to broach the subject with employers.

He is not obligated to disclose a criminal record unless asked, but if he is asked, either orally or on an application, he must disclose the details. Some employers may outright reject him, but all will respect his honesty - lying about it is a sure way to get fired, or even blackballed.
