Looking for a Map Maker of some kind?

A free downloadable mapmaker that lets me create and edit custom maps.

Would appreciate any help.

I guess the answer to your question would depend on your purpose for creating these maps. I have not personally used any of the programs listed below. I am simply posting what I found on Google.

If you are seeking to customize real world maps then you might want to try Smart Draw > http://www.smartdraw.com/specials/geogra... or AGIS > http://www.agismap.com/download.html

If you are seeking to create custom game maps, then you may want to try AutoRealm > http://www.gryc.ws/autorealm.htm or a much more sophisticated program such as ProFantasy > http://www.profantasy.com/ which costs a little money.

Unfortunately, those were about the only sources that I could find. I hope that you find what you are looking for.
