I've been on a no carb diet for two weeks now and I want to stick with it but i"m finding it hard to come up with meals. Any suggestions?

I am eating some carbs but I'm looking for some NO carb ideas for one of my three meals.

  1. NO carbs, eh? Not even a few? LOL!

I understand though. I'm also low carbing it and it gets a little frustrating when you can't eat the "good" stuff. Maybe we could share ideas so that meals won't become so monotonous. But my meals usually add up to about 10 or fewer carbs a day. Anyway I came up with a "mustard chicken" that doesn't have any carbs. It's pretty good too. You could eat it with a side of green beans (no carbs), put it on a salad (few carbs if you just use salad greens and a low carb dressing), make it a snack by eating it with pork rinds (no carbs) and sprinkling with cheese.

1 or 2 chicken breast cut into chunks

    olive oil (or substitute)

    salt & pepper

1 tbsp regular yellow mustard (or more to your liking)

~put just enough olive oil in skillet to coat the bottom (coulple tbsp)

    ~add chicken chunks

    ~season with salt and pepper

~let chicken brown, turning over so that it cooks evenly

~when chicken is done add mustard and mix chicken around so it gets coated ** you might want to add just a little bit of water after this step (it helps with spreading the mustard) if you add too much water just put it back on the stove for a few so that most of it cooks out**

You're done! I also found some taco sauce in the grocery store that doesn't have any carbs. You could use that instead of the mustard for a little mexican flavor.

  3. Just about every food has some carbs in it with the exception of meats and fish. So unless that's all you're eating, you're going to get some carbs.

The problem with that is you run a very high risk of getting gout if you eat only meat which can be very uncomfortable, in some cases crippling, and can only be cured with prescription meds.

So some vegetables have to be included in the no carb diet to maintain some kind of balance and prevent gout.

Check out this website! I used it all the time when I was on a low carb diet. They have some pretty good recipes.
