  1. I bought a book about Jeffery Dahmer because I was curious about the story and have never head the full thing.  I read about 4 pages and haven't read it since because it made me sick to my stomach. (I don't handle horror very well) but you might find it okay.  

    No happy endings there.

    It's about Manson. Believe me, no happy ending here.

  3. Ann Rule is one of the better true crime writers out there. I liked "The Stranger Beside Me," which is about Ted Bundy.

    Go to a bookstore and browse the True Crime section--there's tons of good stuff out there.

    ETA: And I second the above poster's recommendation of "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi.
