My daughter and I have been working through the Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (which is wonderful...I highly recommend it) anyway.. we are about 20 lessons in and doing great. I can't believe she is already sounding out sentences. But by the time she enter kindergarten this fall it seems that she will be reading at about a second grade reading level. The book recommends a few books that will help teach addt'l skills but I would like something with a little formal instruction...more for me than her. Just to make sure we are heading in the right direction. I know she will be in school and will learn there too..but we really enjoy our "learning" time together. We just spend about 10 minutes about 4 times a week working on this. Any suggestions???
