Looking for a car with 3rd row of seats, side airbags and decent gas mileage. Any thoughts?

Mazda5 all the way. :) Its a mini-minivan, seats 6. That's as fuel efficient as a 3 row vehicle is going to get.

Also check out Mazda CX9, a crossover with 3 rows, but still not huge like the Suburban.

Others:

I believe the new Honda CRVs have an optional 3rd row, as do Honda Pilots. The only vehicles that are going to have a normal sized 3rd row are going to be BIG vehicles: full size SUVs or minivans. Suburban, Yukon are 2, but the gas mileage has got to be awful since they are sOOO huge. I've seen some SUVs that have optional ones, like I've seen the occasional Ford Explorer that has 3 rows.

Ford Freestyle also has 3 rows of seats

Chrysler Pacifica - available with 2 captains chairs in 2nd row, and bench in third for easier access to 3rd row, fits most adults in 3rd row

And you might reconsider Buick - personally I'm an import fan, but supposedly the new Enclave is awesome.

supposedly there are about 40 vehicles with available 3rd rows, so there's actually lots of options.
