Does such an image exist? I can find, natta ;-(. Perhaps I have not used anatomically correct terminology in my search? I don't know. But, would any of you happen to have a link to such a diagram...or animation, perhaps?

Thanx for all and any answers, everyone!! :-)

  1. Concur with Spreedog, if you're looking for genuine cross-sectional diagrams or cadaveric cross-section, then The Visible Human Project is your sure bet:

    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/visible/...

This one's specific to the female:

If you're talking about in-vivo cross sectional CT/MR anatomy, this abounds, just google something like:

"coronal CT section female pelvis" and guarantee you'll find what you seek.

In the unlikely event you can't find it on the net, then this text is about as strong as it gets vis a vis cross sectional imaging:

Computed Body Tomography with MRI Correlation (2 Volume Set) By Drs. Lee & Sagel 4th ed., Lippincott.

Below, I'll hyperlink you to the amazon page for this (super expensive 2 vol reference) but any Medical library will carry it.

Here you'll have Coronal CT with MR correlation of anything you want, whether normal or path.

    Good luck!

This is more of a sagittal view.  Tough search.

    This is more coronal.

    Back to sagittal again.

  3. Good, you found it!  I was going to sugested the digital Adam anatomical cross sections that came out in the late 70's.  How's the Doctorate going?

My info is at best VERY DATED, when I did biology we still did gross disections and microtomes.  MRI was as yet unknown.

  4. Sounds interesting.   As an incurable romantic, I reckon females are fascinating from any view.   But when opportunity offers, I'll ask my psychiatrist daughter.  She knows more about geography than I do.  Good luck.
