not looking for hemp based rope. It must be 3 strand and 4.5 - 5mm and nylon or ployproperlene

Just because it's made of hemp doesn't mean you can smoke it.

Try a ships chandlers , plenty about but I do not know London.

Hemp or Sisal  is actually the best rope for spliceing and whipping [if you do that]. Best stick to 3 ply as that is the easiest.

Don't forget if you use poly you will need to seal [melt] the ends of the strands to stop them fraying.

Interesting subject. I didn't know people still did this.

P.S plenty for sale on ebay.

Nylon/Poly is not difficult to get , Farmers suppliers sell it and even hardwear / gardening stores
