Looking for a decent freestyle/park snowboard on a budget?

I'm about 6ft tall and 160 lbs with size 11.5 boots, and I'd like to get a low-cost snowboard to learn to ride jumps, rails, etc. I've been riding for about a year now, and have a Burton King 162cm which works well for groomers and powder, but I have a really hard time spinning it or even popping a decent ollie - it just seems stiff. (This has actually been confirmed by a friend who's been riding about 8 yrs) Can anyone suggest a halfway decent, low-cost board that's really buttery?

  1. You should go for a jib board which are great for rails and are really butterery and easy to spin. They are also easy to ride, and generally cheap to buy. Some good ones that you should check out are

    Rome Artifact

    Apo Selecta

    K2 WWW

    Capita Stairmaster

    Burton Dominant

    Atomic Pivot

    Ride Kink

    Good luck with the riding.

  2. I do a lot of park riding and I ride a GNU there great boards that are pretty cheap and last for a wicked long time. Rome is another good and pretty cheap park board but watch out some of them wont last to long like the one that says Hustlin on the bottom if you wait till almost the end of the season the boards prices will drop atleat $100 so good luck

  3. You could try the Burton blunt. They are designed to be an inexpensive park board for people on a budget but I'm not sure if it comes in wide, but you could check Burton's website to confirm.

  4. The good freestyle boards you'd have to lay down at least $450-$500. But if you're looking for one cheaper but still decent try the Palmer Flash. Its not the best but three of my friends had it once and said it had some pop. Its about $250, thats the lowest you want to go if you still want a good park board. ....The best freestyle board to get though is the Custom X by Burton. IT IS AWESOME, my cousin has one and it is just way above normal standards. price tag is huge though at $650. dream....:)
