Guerrero has never won a World Series. He's played for some very poor Montreal Expos teams. He then signed and played for the Angels who were major contenders every season. Unfortunately for Vladimir, the Angels won the World Series in 2002 and he signed with them in 2005. This past season, Vladimir Guerrero played for the Texas Rangers who lost in the World Series to the San Fransisco Giants where he played well as one of the veterans on the team. Guerrero hit .300 with 29 home runs and 115 RBIs in 593 at bats. I'm kind of surprised that Vlad would leave a World Series contender for a sub .500 team like the Orioles but money must have played a part in his decision

The Baltimore Orioles have had 13 consecutive losing seasons and the addition of Guerrero would be a major feather in their cap. Guerrero would be assigned as the designatedhitter. In 2002 Guerrero had a career high 40 stolen bases but injuries and age have led him to play the role as DH. Vladimir Guerrero's best season came in 2000 when he hit .345 with 44 home runs and 123 RBIs. In his career, Guerrero has had 6 seasons of over 100 runs, 10 seasons of over 100 RBI's, and 12 seasons of over 25 home runs in season. Guerrero doesn't have the power of an Albert Pujols but could get on base and is considered one of the top players in baseball in the last decade.

Hall Of Fame Possibility

Vladimir Guerrero has had a squeaky clean image, not being linked to any type of enhancement drugs. Guerrero has a great chance of making the hall of fame and with one or two more decent seasons, is a virtual lock to make it. Guerrero should be a first ballot hall of famer.

Baltimore Has Been Very Active In the Off Season

New additions to the team include third baseman Mark Reynolds, shortstop J.J. Hardy, first baseman Derrick Lee, closer Kevin Gregg, and starting pitcher Justin Duchscherer. If he passes the physical, the addition of Vladimir Guerrero wouldn't put Baltimore in elite status but would make them a possible contender.

Last season Luke Scott led the team with 27 home runs. With the addition of Derrick Lee and Vladimir Guerrero, the Orioles would have a formidable trio of power hitters.

The acquisition is great for Baltimore but in my opinion Guerrero has made plenty of money in his career and should've stayed with a World Series contender like the Texas Rangers.
