Question:

Looking for a different way to make pork chops?

I usually bread and fry them, or sometimes I shake and bake them or just put barbeque sauce on them in the oven. I'm having pork chops tonight and I'm looking for something a little different. I have some stir fry, is it possible to cut them into strips and fry with the stir fry? Any other ideas of what I could do with them? They're not thick enough to stuff.

  1. Cajun Fried Chicken or Pork

4-5 boneless chicken b*****s, boneless pork chops

1 cup of self-rising flour, unsifted

    1 tsp garlic salt

    1 tsp cayenne pepper

    1tbs Dijon mustard

    1/3 cup Tabasco

    ¼ cup water

    1 – 1 ½ cups oil, for frying

Combine cayenne pepper, mustard, Tabasco, and water in plastic container or gallon size zip lock bag. If you pierce chicken with a fork first it will be a lot spicier (don’t do this unless you like it HOT!). Place chicken in marinade, turning to coat well. Marinate for no more than 1 hour, turning frequently.

Combine self-rising flour and garlic salt in a plastic bag or container. Add chicken to coat, one at a time is best. I use tongs so my hands don’t get messy.

Heat vegetable oil in large skillet on medium high heat.

Fry chicken pieces, turning once, for about 15-20 minutes total. Remove from pan immediately and keep warm. If you use regular pieces of chicken, with bone in, cook for at least 30-45 minutes, or until done.

    Serving Suggestions:

Garlic flavored pasta or garlic mashed potatoes and green beans or broccoli.

    Moms Accidental Teriyaki Pork Chops

This dish can be made more or less sweet according to taste. It is just as good without the mushrooms.

6 to 8 pork chops (boneless) or chicken

    ¼ cup butter or margarine

    3 TBS olive oil

    1 cup slice mushrooms (optional)

¼ cup sweet wine (White port wine is good)

    ½ cup Kikoman Teriyaki Marinade

¼ cup corn syrup or sugar (optional), use only if you like your teriyaki a little sweet

1 - (10 ½ oz) can white sauce or package white sauce made according to directions

In large skillet brown pork chops in 2 tablespoons melted butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Remove chops from pan. Add remaining butter and oil to pan drippings. Add mushrooms and sauté until golden brown. Add remaining ingredients except white sauce. And simmer for 15 minutes. Add white sauce and stir until smooth and completely blended. Place pork chops in a 3-quart casserole dish and pour sauce over it. Bake at 350F for about 1 ½ hours or until chops are tender.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Serving suggestions: Goes great with mashed potatoes (use the sauce over the potatoes), pasta, or rice.

  2. You could always roll them around stuffing(boneless).

Or your stir fry idea sounds like it might work, just try not to over cook them because then they'll be tough.

My mom used to season them and just brown them in the pan, flipping occasionally until they are done. Pretty quick and easy.

    Good luck!

  3. Stir fry sounds perfect.

You could also kabob them with slices of apple or pineapple or carrots or little wheels of corn.

Or, take out the bones, if there are any, and pound them flatter than they already are, the thinner the better. Then put something in the middle, like stuffing or asparagus or chopped apples (whatever you like) and roll them up. These will cook up quickly at 350 in about 15-20 minutes, if that.

  4. I know you want different but have you ever used this recipe from shake and bake, its so

    good.

  5. Mix some real mayo and grated parmesan cheese in a bowl. Spread the mixture on both sides of the meat. Then, pour some French's Fried Onions in a bag, break the pieces up a little bit in the bag, then throw the meat in, shake it up, and bake the meat how you normally would. I do this with chicken and it comes out REALLY juicy and full of flavor. Enjoy!

  6. bake them in the oven-last ten minutes top with bacon strips(halved) and blue cheese or bake them in the oven in mushroom soup

  7. Pizza ala pork

Take chop a butterfly chop. Stuff chop with stove top stuffing. Place in pan cover with a good amount of tomatoe source and top with good cheese and bake.

  8. Fry them, de bone them, break the meat up into little pieces like shredded beef and follow your favorite taco recipe. I always get raves of how well the pork chop tacos are.  Have fun

  9. Italian Pork chops mozzarella

Top chops with spaghetti sauce & cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes or until sauce is warm & cheese is melted.

** try using chicken instead of pork!

    Fake Shake N Bake

    3TB whole wheat flour

1 TB wheat germ (found in cereal isle, or at natural health food stores)

    1/2 C bread crumbs

    2 ts sugar

    1 ts salt

    1 ts italian seasoning

(may opt. add 1 TB olive oil, but I only have 1x)

Use as shake 'n bake~also good on cut up potatoes, baked as french fries

  10. Try making peach pork chops! first, you brown the chops on both sides. Then you turn the heat up on high and pour heavy peach juice in the skillet and over the chops. Make sure you leave a little grease in the skillet so the juice can make a nice glaze. Serve the chops with peach slices on top to make the dish look more pleasing to the eye. These chops are great if you like a little sweetness with your pork.

  11. salt and pepper

  12. Don't know how much time you have left, but I like to brown the chops first, then cook them in the crock pot (I have a small one that works great for this).  I usually cook them about 3-4 hours on low.  I top them with apple pie filling, or you can use apple sauce.  You can make up a box of conrbread stuffing mix and then add that on top of the chops/apple pie filling.  It will crisp up nicely on top.  My boyfriend really likes this dish!
