Hi i was wondering1 if anyone knew where i could find a young female pastel lovebird around the age of 7 months. My young male lovebird hasnt been getting enough attention form me and i think he might need a friend(not in the same cage) just another lovebird that he could talk to. I have another large cage that belonged to my bird previously but i upgraded him to an even larger cage so that he could fly with mor espace. if nayone has any links to breeders or the like i would really appreciate it

  1. NEVER buy a second lovebird because they will completely bond with each other and NOT you. Second I have realized that if you let them out together then put them back in there cages they will scream for each other. Plus lovebirds are known to be aggressive and kill there MATES. I recommend to give him more attention, toys, or play the radio or leave the TV on for your bird to watch as you are out. Plus what would you do if left the birds out together and they mated? If you are thinking of getting of a male think again. Two males could kill each other over territory! PLEASE DON'T get a second bird! What if they don't even get along and you are left with a second bird which MIGHT be mean or doesn't like you?

Please Please Please don't get a second lovebird. I bought a companion for my cockatiel which was a lovebird! They got along so well i put them in the same cage and soon the little baby 2-3 month old lovebird attacked my cockatiels toe and blood was all over! Please don't a "friend" for your bird. They will bond and pay less attention to you!

  2. You can check www.birdsnway.com, www.birdbreeders.com, your local craigslist, newspaper, check out the African Lovebird societies home page and check their breeder listings, you can even just google your area and lovebird breeders and see what pops up... If you give a specific area, someone might even know of a private breeder you can talk to.

  3. Hi, check www.birdsnway.com for a breeder near you.
