Looking for a flag, possibly discontinued or no longer of a current nation-it's red on the bottom stripe . .

yellow in the middle, and black on top, with all colors of the same amount. Any info about this flag would be appreciated or links to info about it. Or with black on bottom, red on top. ..asking because I am intuitively led to seek info about this flag, not sure the reason

If the black were instead a deep purple, your 2nd description would match that of the Republican forces during the Spanish Civil War.

There is no existing world flag as you describe it.  The flags of Germany and Uganda are the only horizontally striped black, yellow and red flags:

I looked for the flag and all I found was the following:

Black over red over yellow = Germany

Red over white over black = Yemen

Now one that is vertical

Black (Next to pole, Yellow in center and Red on outer edge = Belgium

The national flag of Germany is the closest one I can think of that sounds like the flag in your description, although the order of the colors is different.
