  1. For a Christian worldview:

For English, I really suggest Rod & Staff.

For world history, you mght like Abeka's 7th grade world history -- it is plenty adequate for 9th grade, believe me!  Or you might prefer Bob Jones University Press.

For earth science, try BJUP -- they do that subject in 8th grade, but it will not be too easy for ninth.

  2. Question - what type of curriculum are you looking for?  Would you like something that's straight-forward and textbook based, or a history curriculum that's more based on research and literature?  Christian or secular viewpoint?

There is such a huge range of curriculum choices available for both subjects - please clarify and we'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

Don't worry about the trolls who come here blabbing about the socialization thing...just ignore them.  The rest of us do.  :)

Edit - I second the Earth Science by BJU, and add a recommendation for Physical Science by Apologia.  Both are excellent, and while they're designed for 8th grade, they'd also be fine for 9th.

For world history, I'd suggest either BJU or TRISMS.  They are two totally different approaches, so you have plenty of options.  Both are excellent, they just appeal to different types of learners.  For TRISMS, I'd suggest either Discovering the Ancient World or Expansion of Civilizations.
