I'm looking for a jewish gravestone located by NYC, with the Star of David on it. The persons name was Isaac Gelbert which was changed from record to record as Ike or Gilbert. He born born 1878 and had a wife named Sarah Scher/Sher. He came from Russia (possibly the Russian part of Poland) and had the kids of Milton, Martin, Lena, ad Bella.

  1. 1930 Census shows them all living in Columbia County, NY.  Do you know what year/date he died?  If you know what town they were from, you could try searching in this link:

  2. There are a number of Jewish cemeteries in all five boroughs.  If you have some idea of which synagogue he may have attended, or if he was a member of a burial society, it would help in locating him.
