Linda Howard's "Kiss Me While I Sleep" was fun to read.  

And I have to mention my personal favorite, Sandra Brown's "Hello, Darkness", but any Sandra Brown novel is easy to read and interesting.

I love Stephen King - "Pet Cemetery" and "The Shining" are GREAT! Also, Carl Haasan has some more "fun" books, I suggest "Skinny Dip" or "Sick Puppy".

the most entertaining read i have encountered is a clockwork orange. be warned, some find it hilarious, while some find it disturbing. its about 300 pages i would guess, but its not an easy read because the protagonists use a slang that you are forced to learn as you read the book.

You might enjoy The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. It is told from the point of view of a very special dog which sounds odd, I know. The book was so good & very easy to read, I finished it in only a few hours.

If you like humorous fantasy I highly recommend The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, they are wonderful & so funny!

All these are great books that you should really look into!
