Looking for a great digital camcorder under $500...?

That is HD and uses SD cards. I love SD cards.

What is the best given these conditions? Meaning, which one has the best combination of good sound, picture, stabilization, etc. Thank you all.

Since any of the real camcorders that record to memory cards will compress high definition (1080i) using AVCHD, I can't think of any I would waste my money on... Too much compression during the capture process means less than ideal quality downstream.
