Looking for a investment website?

about a year ago, I ran across a website that would buy bulk lots of stuff, and sell them to companies. They would let members buy percentages of the lots, and take a percentage of the profit. I lost the link, and was wondering what is the name of this company, are they still around, and are they legitimate.

Ah, I remember one, except I can't recall the name, but they sometimes had some neat ads, like cartoons in The New Yorker. My favorite was a young guy with a rotund bald guy in a suit and they were surrounded by crates. The "suit" says, "You, me, or this stock has to go, and it isn't going to be me." I thought it was something to do with a scholarship fund.
