Looking for a long range cordless phone!?

I have a lot of land, at one point I have cottages on a smallish hill. There is no power up there, or anything. I cannot answer my phone up there because my cordless does not reach that far. I would say there is about a 1000 feet or so from the base. There is trees in the way but they are not broad trees. Basically, I need a phone that will work in these conditions. I have found several no brand phones on ebay advertizing several km of range, but am very skeptical. I would like something reliable that would work in the 1000ft range, and also not spend 500+ $.

Do you have call-forwarding?

Try picking up one of those pre-paid cell phones and forward your calls from your landline phone into it when you go outside.

forward your calls to your cellphone and use that when you go outside....

from your phone hit *72 and then enter your cell # w/1 + area code....
