i am trying to find anything online that lets you build a basic motor bike so you can see what it looks like before you start the actual building process.

Hi,

there are courses for learning basic motorcycle mechanics, but they seem to be very rare.

I learnt  by having to repair my own motorcycles as i couldnt afford mechanics fees. My first   work was on a Honda CB100n.

I learnt how to do simple things like replce spark plug, adjust plug gap, set points, change oil and then moved up to taking parts off the chassis to either repaint, repair or replace them.

I had a haynes manual for the bike, so when i finally  got to  rebuilding an engine i read the book  about 3 times and  used it as a guide. Everything i took off i laid out so that i knew how it went back together.

If you start off on a small cc motorcycle , some basic tools, and a haynes manual- then you should be able to do most things yourself.

hi,i advise just buying a scrapper for £40 from a brakers or ebay...practical is always better than theory
