Pontiac Vibe - Pretty stylish - and great utility and MPG (30 city - 36 highway on 2005-2007 models).

Scratch the idea for the Colbalt - yes inexpensive and yes cheap but its also a chick car ( notice he even points out his wife drives one) . Go for like a used 1 or 2 year old Mitsubishi Lancer. VERY STYLISH and great on gas - I'v had 2 and 01 OZ Rally and a 06 Ralli Art. Cheap - Good on Gas - Stylish and you can always make it too look like an Evo down the rode.
