Not too expensive, but not a dive either. Must be close to the centre of Venice. Any suggestions please?

  1. Bauer Grinwald...I think I spelled it correctly.

  2. Check out Booking.com, once you have put in your dates you can sort by price (Cheapest I could find was 50euro).

You could also have a look at Trip Adviser.

  3. Danieli?...=)

I mean, if you stay 3-4 days...perhaps you can afford it!

    ciao!

  4. There is a place across the canal from the Accademia Galleries. Try to book into the:

    "Foresteria Fondazione Levi"

    Calle Giustinan

    San Marco 2893

    foresterialevi@libero.it

The rooms are comfortable - nothing fancy... but the building beautiful. The rooms do not look over the Grand Canal and this is a blessing bu cause it is noisy at night and in the morning hours.

The area is central (10 minute walk to the Fenice and 13 to Piazza San Marco) and the cost of a Double is under a 100 euros.

  6. We have the night of TUESDAY, 12th of JUNE, triple available at "Laterna di Marco Polo."  We stayed the first 2 days of a 3 day stay and now have to leave.  Great location, very clean and friendly, excellent air conditioning.  Can find on Venere.com.  It is 195 Euros.

  7. I would suggest that the best would be to rent a place if you will be staying for longer than a week. One of the best places is http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-...  . Hotels tend to be very over-priced in Venice. The other alternative is to stay somewhere a little outside of Venice and get the train in daily. Somewhere like Treviso isn't a bad bet.

  8. a very nice hotel  I've been a few years ago is Hotel Flora very near San Marco square but in the summer  in Venice it's a lot of people because of biennale of modern art

  9. I also found Venice a little pricey.....a couple of weeks is a long time there too...it only needs a couple of days to see really!!

I stayed in 2 places (as to save money I stayed in a hostel one night) but the little hotel I stayed in had lovely views over a canal ..hotel Messiner, but some rooms don't have views.

I thought it was very quaint and I loved the views of the canal and it was not far from the "boat" stop only a few minutes walk....the area was quiet (although my room was directly above the resteraunt or kitchen and was a little noisy in the evening, but was quiet later.

Anyway it may not be your cup of tea, but I liked it (and the price was reasonably compared to others!)

  10. Venice is expensive, there are no cheap hotels.
