Looking for a really good haute cuisine restaurant in Nottingham, walking distance from Park Plaza hotel?

like French, Italian but not rally "nouvelle cuisine" cos portions too tiny. I am from Nottingham but left there when I was 18, now 39, so never really got to the stage of eating out at "posh" restaurants! Punchinellos already suggested. Do you need to book there or just turn up?

On Frommers (link below), they recommend Sonny's at 3 Carlton Street - "food here has much flavor".
