Looking for a really great anti-fog to apply to our snorkel masks. Any recommendations?

The simple answer is 'spit'.  Spit onto the inside plate, rub it around and then rinse in the lake or ocean water.  Always works.

I usually use 1 of 3 techniques to keep my dive mask from fogging. We usually have a mask defogger solution when we dive and that is our first choice.

   1. Commercially Prepared Solution - You can buy this at any dive shop for a few bucks. They last a long time and do work (at least the ones we have used). Just put a couple drops on your lenses and rub it around. Rinse it out thoroughly, you don't want to get solution in your eyes.

   2. Saliva -  It really does work. I usually  put in on my mask when it is dry. Rinse out after rubbing it around your mask. Some people get queasy, bacteria, etc. But we've done it with no problems. Good in a pinch.

   3. Toothpaste - If the above 2 don't work, it may need a more thorough cleaning with toothpaste (non-gel). This should solve any problem with fogging that you have.

If it's a new mask you should use the toothpaste first to get off any oily residue that may be on there from the manufacturer.

Hopefully this will help. I know how annoying it is when a mask keeps on fogging up.
