Looking for a site that gives tips on how fix problems on pc?

Question

I'm sure that download.com used have top tips on fixing problems on your pc. For example, I'm sure I recall a tip for stopping un needed tasks from starting up every time I start to use my pc. For example when I pressed "control alt delete" recently because my pc froze, the window that appeared said there were over 40 tasks running. I am a pc dummy, I need a site that explains things to me in way that an idiot can follow and understand .
