Looking for a town in N. Georgia for a move.

Looking for an educated safe town in Northern Georgia to move to. We work from home and like privacey.

Would like country club, hunt club and or yacht club close. Would like some acreage with a private lake/ pond.

Planning to come out next month and drive around checking out areas.

We are in Los Angeles now and lived a lot of our life in Detroit/ Pheonix area. I have lived in Huntsville, AL and traveled/ enjoyed the south.

we are done with the Traffic, pollution and crowds in LA.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and Time!

  1. I live in Rocky Face, GA, which is right outside Dalton, GA (carpet capitol of the world).

Where I live, there is a country club right down the road called The Farm, on Mill Creek Road, in Rocky Face, GA.  The Farm is located in a gated community on a golf course.  Lots of doctors, lawyers, and carpet moguls live in the neighborhood.

Dalton is also located close to Chattanooga, TN (30 minutes away) which is a great area for tourism.

Dalton, GA is also home to Dalton State College, and both the county and city school systems are wonderful when it comes to education.

Dalton is also the hometown of Deborah Norville, and Marla Maples.

Dalton, GA, and the surrounding areas (Rocky Face, Tunnel Hill, Cohutta, Chatsworth) are really nice, and worth checking out.

We have mountains, lots of nice scenery, and since we all like to be outdoors so much, you would have no trouble finding land with a private lake.  There are also hunting clubs in the area, so you would be okay there as well.

I hope your search goes well, and if you have any more questions about Dalton, please feel free to contact me.

  2. New York

  3. Traffic is a huge issue in Atlanta...like third worst in the whole country.  To avoid it, you will have to be WAY north of the city.  Try Rome, Blairsville, Calhoun, Blue Ridge, Ellijay, and Jasper.

  4. Try the HELEN GA, Mt Yonah area

  5. I would look in the North Georgia mountains for small towns and country club.    Young Harris, Hiawassee, Blairsville, Helen, Blue Ridge, Toccoa.

If you Google Real Estate in North Georgia Mountains you'll find a lot of information.

  6. Try Athens, Georgia. You can also try Commerce and Jefferson, Georgia, but it's really boring here. I know, because I live in North Georgia.
