Looking for a toy I had when I was a kid, but don't know what it was called. Please help?

I am looking for the remote control cars that you put on a track and raced against each other. They were held on by a little pin and you had a trigger that controlled how fast they went. If you went too fast around curves, they would fly off. I want to buy one, but I don't know how to search for them

They have these at Toys R Us.  We got our boys ages 5 & 7 these last year for Christmas.  Not sure about the same so you can search online.  But they definately have these at Toys R Us.  I think ours was called something Nascar.  But its exactly the same as me and my brothers played in the 1980s.

They're called 'slot car tracks'.  Hope it helps; I think you'd be better off finding them on eBay than trying to find one in a toystore...

I believe you should search for slot car racing sets. I know my brother got my nephew one off  line last year. Wish I could be more help.
