I want to hook up my computer to a generator powered by bike pedals but I need a website that will tell me how to build it from scratch and how much it will cost, the web site also needs to be easy to follow as I don't really know that much about this kind of stuff Thanks.

  1. Try: Earth 4 Energy: http://linkbee.com/HFW

  2. The problem lies with the amount of power you may or may not need to power your computer. Computers may need a supply of power from 5 watt through about 450 watt. With a display screen that can be anywhere from 20 watt through 500 watt.

A human can put out about 70 watt on a long term basis. That might support a laptop.

So you should consider whether the project is possible for the computer you are using, then consider things like what voltage(s) you might need as input to computer and monitor.

No single design would be appropriate for all computers.

  3. This is a link to a kit that will set you up.
