so i am a junior in high school and i am looking into joining the navy. my father was in the navy and that's what really got me thinking about it but i'm still not sure about it. i don't know what i would do or if they have any jobs that would help me out with my career(i hope to be a curator at a museum).

so basically i am hoping that you could give me some info on what it is like to be a woman in the navy as well as what it is like to just be in the navy. feel free to tell me what you did while there.

please and thank you.

  1. I don't blame you for wanting to serve your country, and then wanting to accomplish another life goal (curator) later on.

And no, women in the military do not turn into s***s.  Whatever ignorant bastr@rd said that, he's just some bitter fool.  It's an honorable thing to serve your country, man or woman.

My father was in the Navy.  I'm in the Air Force.  Being a woman in the Air Force isn't a hassle.  I can't speak for other services, but I'm not stuck on a ship with a bunch of men for 6-9 months at a time.  The Air Force is a wonderful service to join, maybe consider that...  My father was very glad I did.

  2. better off in the marines

  3. Please dont join the navy...or any branch of the military for that matter. Females in the military turn into.........I hate to say it.....but......s***s! Trust me.

  4. no they dont turn into s***s

be a curator at a museum much safer

  5. I think you are a little confused here, you say you want to be in the navy AND be a curator in a museum. You have to make your mind up as I don't think there are any sea-going museums.

Surely your father can give you an insight to what navy life would be like.

  6. Well, obviously im not a woman, but i am in the navy, Honestly not many rates out there will help you, but the navy has a program called "cool" or "navy cool" which helps you pretty much get what ever schooling or training is needed for basicly any job out there, best part is it is free ( for the most part) then you will have the GI bill after, so go for the navy, you will love it i promise. Oh and it is not hard, alot of c**p you have to deal with sometimes, but i love it.
