Having real brain-freeze here. I'm looking for an adjective that describes the appearance of symptoms of a disease that appear occasionally for no know reason. All I’ve been able to find is "idiopathic" and that’s not the word I’m looking for. I believe the word begins with "am….”. Example - most diabetics take extremely good care of themselves; watch their diet, monitor their sugar levels, exercise etc. but sometimes their glucose levels just go out of wack regardless of how careful they are. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve

    idio means to not know    ( as an idiot is incapable of knowing) and

    dis = not
