My family is really wanting to adopt a baby/toddler. We would really like a little boy because we have adopted a little girl from newborn 13 yrs ago and r very blessed. We have been foster parents for about 8 yrs. Over this time we have had no children that have came up for adoption. If they're were a child, even older to come up, we would have taken them too, but most have had rough lives and permanent problems. Anyway. we would really like an adoption without and agency, but since there really aren't many people willing to give there children up (from where we live) most will live with nothing b4 they give up their children. So we would like to have a good agency to go through. Thinks bunches. if ya have any questions, u can email me at the email addy i took from my daughter, e_salmons93@yahoo.com

  1. First, go to http://www.adoptuskids.org and look at the photolistings.

    Go to:

    http://www.missionwv.org/Default.aspx?ta...

for the WV Heart Gallery (you've got to see if you can go to one of these)

    http://www.adoptionnetwork.org/content.a...

    for the OH Heart Gallery.

I didn't see one for KY.

Here's a yellow pages search for agencies in WV

    http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listin...

And the yellow pages search for OH

Adoption is a wonderful thing (as you know).  It's changed our lives for the better.

  2. Hi there!!

First off I want to warn, don't just open the yellow pages and start dialing.  This is your family and the rest of your life were talking about.  You should first check their record at the Better Business Bureau for unresolved complaints.

Most agencies will have free seminars.  Attend as many as possible to get a feel of who you are going with.

Also be sure to ask each agency how many adoptions they have completed. And ask for a few referrals of families who have adopted through there agency.

  3. Go to adoptionattorneys.org and then go to the interactive map.  That is how we found our attorney.
