Looking for an alternative to Yahoo! Groups?

Question

I am web moderator for several clubs and parent groups. I have used Yahoo! Group for many years, but many less technical members don't know how to use it and stop using it, so most of my efforts are wasted. I like the concept and functionality of Yahoo! Groups very much, but the usability it a big turn-off. Are their other free or low cost services comparable to Yahoo! Groups that I can use for my kids sports teams, etc.???

if people cant technically figure out Yahoo Groups, more than likely they'll not ever find one they will. I belong to many different type groups and forums and none are as user friendly as Yahoo Groups, or as easy to help a member figure it out.
