  1. if you have a car  (highly recommend)  you can drive all over and find your spot - very easy to drive there

if you want great beaches 37 try St Martin

much more to see and do than Aruba

  2. Last time i went i stayed at the Marriot Surf Club... it was pretty nice but to me the water isnt clear like other places i've been to in the carribean (*just got back from grand cayman for 5th time and its great*).  One of the days i was there we went to the other side of the island to baby beach. it was empty and the water was clear calm and had decent snorkeling. It was a bit hard to find but worth it. *** The Hyatt is also very nice, maybe pricy but great, they got nice pools and a nice beach***

  3. We stay at the Renaissance Mariott in downtown Orangestaad.  This resort has its own private island (with a family side and a tops-optional side!).  Also, the resort itself has pools, swim-up bars, 2 work-out facilites, and is walking distance from TONS of restaurants and shopping.  We love it (going in July!)...have fun - it's a wonderful place to have vacation.

  4. well my uncle goes to the Bucuti Beach Resort he goes there so much he even got a certificate and a free nights stay haha he loves it there

  5. Perfect location for the quiet beaches are the low rise hotels. Less tourists.

My favorites are La Quinta and La Cabana. You can get all inclusive if you like, but these are apt. type rooms with a kitchenette.

    find them both on http://www.aruba.com

  6. Uhm,i live in aruba..soo i'd say try arashi or manchebo..those are the less congested beaches or also try boca catalina

  7. Baby beach is pretty cool. Calm water for snorkeling. A little hard to find, but you'll like it. It's on the southeastern tip of the island near San Nicholas.

  8. Try TripAdvisor.com for opinions from past guests.  One of the top-rated places is not right on the beach but has a small kitchen, so you can have breakfast in the room, keep drinks and snacks on hand, etc.  An all-inclusive is an easy way to go, but you are then limited to eating in one place for every meal, rather than getting to explore several different restaurants.  Of course, that "exploring", isn't everyone's cup of tea.

You might also want to check out Frommer's and Fodor's websites for suggestions of hotels/resorts and restaurants, as well as what to see/do.

Just a note - I've read many postings about the Aruba airport being congested and difficult to leave from, so you may want to allow some extra time.

  9. I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.
