Looking for an entry level job in marketing...?

I have been searchin ....and searching....and searching and can NOT find an entry level job in the marketing field. I will have my bachlors in BA/ Marketing next year and would like to get my foot in the door somewhere...at this point ANYWHERE!?!?!?! Maybe I am not looking into the right companies....any ideas??? How hard is it to start on at a publishing place like the newspaper in the marketing dept.?

  1. Here are some ideas.Since you are a student I assume your school has a career placement office.Have you spoken with them about helping you? Does your school offer co-opp jobs which also gives you credit? Can your school put you in touch with grads who work in marketing so you can network with them and get  informational interviews( meet with them only to learn).How about your professors or the Marketing Department Chair - can you meet with them to see what help they can offer? As a marketing professional I believe a job in sales is a great place to start for marketers.If you are interested in newspapers contact the top marketing person and ask if you could meet for an informational interview or perhaps they would offer you an internship.Have you read What Color Is Your Parachute? It is a must to learning how to find a job(I attached a link to the web site guide for it).


  2. Target the main companies of ur interest and field. Try to find out their contact no. and e-mail addresses. and follow up them...

    Do search engines who provide jobs. Talk to consultants, friends if they arrange a interview for u ? Be prepare for the interview at any time.
