Looking for an old movie ,true story on a cruise ship or ocean liner that sank. The captain and several guest?

were in a life boat . and took turns in and out of the water. They were at sea ,several days or weeks ,i think . I know the captain had a gun and shot and kill some people ,trying to keep control of everybody. They did get save at the end and the captain went to prision . I don't know who star in it or the name of the movie. I seen the movie about 5 years ago.I am trying to find it ,with no luck.If anybody has any ideals please let me know . Its a great movie.

I'm pretty sure your talking about the movie Liveboat. It's an old Hitchcock movie, really good one too.
