Looking for ancestor info?

Question

I'm working on a fairly extensive family tree but can't find any information on my great-grandfather. This isn't surprising as he left his wife and seven children for life in California. What I do know: His name was James Lewis Allen, he married Belzora Hill and they lived in Moody, Texas during their life together. What I'd like to know: his birthdate and location, his death date and location, his parents names and any other familial information.

(NOTES: John Wiley Allen and Julia Moriah came to Texas to homestead sometime between 1876 and 1880.

Two of their children, William Jesse and Varzena, died in Missouri of the whooping cough. Jesse Allen, M.G., performed the marriage of Landon Copeland and Hannah Morris Thornton in 1837.

John Wiley Allen had three daughters by a previous marriage, but no names are known for this marriage.

Truett had a book "Our Father's House" which had the following written at the end: "Having found the end of the reading in this book on my Birth Day I have know set my hand to the date thar off. This March the 2 Day in the year of our Lord A. D. 1871. John W. Allen aged 36 yrs."

Both "Jim" and Martha attended Thomas Arnold School in Salado, Texas and graduated in the class of 1901. James was a Baptist minister and school teacher.  They moved to South Texas where they lived several years. The family

moved frequently from one small town to another where he was principal of several schools, Odem being the last place before they moved to Waco in 1918. They settled by Baylor University where the children received a good education.  After moving to Waco, Jim had oil interests for awhile, but it failed. He traveled all over the U.S.A., Mexico, and Canada promoting window pulls, his own invention.

The ancestry.com message board and family trees have some information for James Corbett Pace.  The family tree (link below) shows his name as Corbett Pace, parents are Ed Pace and Laura Sanders and siblings are Ray, Mack, Essie Mae, Maurice and Pete.  In the message boards (links below), researchers claim James Corbett is the son of John Edward Pace and Laura Gertrude Sanders originally from PA or VA, then moved to Livingston, Polk Co., TX; 1st wife Lyllian and children James Corbett Jr., Kathryn Jean, Marian Loretta and Patricia Kaye. 2nd spouse Helen Louise Powers and children John Howard and Corbett Mack.  The Texas Birth Records confirm the above children and parents all born in Harris County.
