My name is Amy Clark Warren. Mariah was my beautiful baby girl, whom I was forced to give up for adoption. Mariah was born 9 lbs. 2 1/2 oun. on 4-18-86 at 3:40 p.m., Southmore Humana Hospital Pasadena Tx.

She was adopted through Lutheran Social Services, 3131 West Alabama, Suite 124, Houston, TX 77098.

Adoption agreed upon was to be an open communication adoption, but not followed by adoptive parents. I sent letters over the years only to be told the adoptive parents would not accept them. They were supposedly lost in a fire.

Adoptive parents are (father) Bailey; (mother) Dianne. Sibling's name is Aaron, whom is also adopted, (not open communication). Aaron would be 3-4 years older than she. Adoption took place May or June of 1987.

Case workers were Grace Bailey and Ruby Douglas.

Bailey is average height, brown hair, glasses. Dianne is dark hair, heavy in stature. Aaron light brown hair.

Help me please. Love her so.

I can still feel her arms around my neck after 22 years.

  1. Lost in a fire, lost in a flood, they are in boxes that are inside an old wall, holding up that old wall, so they can't be accessed (I kid you not, this was a real excuse used.)  Trust me, those letters weren't lost in anything.  They're intact.

Okay, I just ran an Ancestry.com search and found some records.  It looks like Dianne and Bailey are actually their middle names (unless I'm reading it incorrectly.)    Aaron is the correct first name for the sib.  They've got  your daughter listed with a different full name on the record.

From what I'm finding, it is clear they never meant to have an open adoption, as they used their middle names and your daughter's middle name that they gave her for you to identify them all, thus making it incredibly difficult for you to find them

I'm going from there in order to get you more information.

You can contact me via my profile to let me know if this sounds right, wrong, etc. or if you have any other info that can help ID her.

Also, Gershom is great.  If she emailed you, you can rest assured she's got good info.

    ETA:

I have contact information for the brother, Aaron.  I will also pm this to you.

  2. Best of luck!!!

(Just wanted to say that the above answers are awesome!!).

  3. The old 'lost in a fire' ruse again - I think almost every searcher has heard that one LOL what a crock

You will find her and you will feel her arms around your neck again.

Shame on those Adopters for promising open communication and then renaging - I'm so angry on your behalf and for all the other mothers who are similarly duped with this lure

I'm sure the other posters are helping you and I will also do my best to see what I can find for you

Never give up hope - there are so many of us searching and finding, despite the anti-reunion folk trying their darndest to keep people separated from their kin with sealed records and harsh words.  Bear those people no mind and follow your heart.

Please get in touch when you find her and I'll lift a glass to you both

  4. listen to gershom.

also, your letters were not lost in a fire.  common lie with adoption agencies.

  5. I just sent you a private message :) please check for it, it has some important information for you :)

Yeah really jpfg if I had a dime for every time they told someone effected by adoption that their papers were lost in a fire, flood, earthquake....i'd be RICH.

  6. wow...i really feel for you! I was adpoted at birth by my great aunt and uncle, so I grew up around my birthmom (didnt actually find out she was who she was until i was 12). We are incredibly close and even more so now since my "mom" passed away last september...I wish you every ounce of luck in the world in finding your daughter! have you ever thought of hiring a private investigator? sometimes they can dig up impossible things...once again, good luck! i really hope you find her! =)
