My bridesmaids are in school or have small budgets. They're also aware of my low budget and constraints and want to pay for their own dresses.

They're looking for not very tight or revealing bridesmaid dresses for less than $80. Any websites you can recommend? Any links would be much appreciated!!!!

Thank you very much :)

  1. I couldn't find the color or style I wanted so I ordered the fabric and my mom is making them. The fabric was $9 a yard (mystique satin), each dress takes ~2.5 yards so we ordered 15 yards (4 bridesmaids) for a total of $135 for ALL the dresses. The lining was $3 for ALL of it. The zippers were $4 each ($16 total). I am looking to do some hand beading on the front if I can't find the ribbon I like with beads. The pattern for the dresses was $12 for 2 patterns ($3 per dress). The total for each bridesmaid's dress is only ~$40, which they are thrilled about! If you can have the dresses made, go for it. It was such an easy, stress-free way to go because i could choose any fabric, any color and any style and it was immensely less expensive than buying off the rack!

If you don't know a seamstress (my mom makes wedding gowns and formal wear as a side endeavour) then look in the phone book or ask around, your relatives may know someone.

    Good luck!

  2. I bought mine online from www.shopshop.com they have really cute dresses that are super cheap.!

  3. I would recommend department/clothing stores.

Look at Ann Taylor, Dillards, Nordstrom, or Macy's sales rack.  They have great deals all the time.  The dresses I linked below are on sale recently for $65  and they make for beautiful dresses:

Can you describe what you are looking for? Do you want strapless? What colors? Knee length or long? Etc.

David's Bridal has a couple of dresses on sale right at the $80 mark:

Also, I'm not a *huge* fan of Penny's because their material can sometimes be weak but for your BM's it shouldn't be a problem:

  4. Because of your budget you might be able to be so picky about the style.  My mom bought my dress and my younger sister's bridesmaids dress for my older sisters wedding.  Because she was buying both, we were on a budget, so my sister just gave us a colour (both were to be chocolate brown or petal pink) and said we could each pick what we wanted as long as they matched.  We happened to find (and like) the exact same chocolate brown dress, but the store had like 4 different ones.  We just spent a day at the mall and went to every store.  Our dresses were $70 each.

I suggest going the mall route.  There are so many stores, and they won't be as pricey as bridal boutiques.  Also, many stores have "colours" for every season and do multiple styles of dresses in the same colour, so everyone can get a style that suits their body type.  If you are looking for a full length evening gown, you probably won't find something that formal for under $80.

  5. Some ideas -

Click on the pink or blue on this one - it's very pretty

  6. For that kind of budget, you might be better off to pick a color and let them pick their own dresses, that way they can look around and find something on sale.

  7. Everyone is so scared to say davids bridal but they are the best, and have very affordable dresses.  If you go on line, they have a sale and a clearance section with bridesmaids dresses ranging from 40-100 bucks.  They are efficient, and have variety.  They are constantly having sales, so i would definitely check out the website.  You can always order sale dresses in the store as well. Most davids bridals have a large sale/clearance section as well.  If you stick to a color but vary in styles for dresses you can work the sales rack for the whole bridal party.  They also have wedding dresses under the sales rack ranging from 70-120 dollars on the website.

I guarantee you will see something you like!!

Good luck, i am getting married September 20th and have brought tons of bridesmaids dresses from the sales rack for formal outfits, and other people's weddings.
