Looking for calling card Rome to U.S. before I leave for Rome?

what is a good international calling card that I can buy online before I leave the U.S. for Rome,Italy to be used while in Italy to call the states...?

Buy one there. Seriously. Either the airport or the main station have convienience stores, they are cheap, easy to use and you can get one as soon as you land.

The best deal is wait until you get there to buy one. That way, it will work wtih the phones.  You can buy one just about everywhere. Just say you need a phone card to call the US.

Best to wait until you get here to Italy to buy it. It's simpler to use and fewer numbers to dial. Try the Sisal card that is available in many bars that sell lottery tickets. Just ask for  "una scheda (pronounced skayda) per le telefonate internazionali,  per gli stati uniti". They sell them in 5 euro denominations 5 euro being the minimum and, if used in the evenings, they will give you up to 200 minutes of talk-time.
