Looking for careers that i can help build green homes?

I am 16 and really interested in have a green career in the future. I watch PLANET GREEN a lot , especially watch GREENOVATION. I was wondering are there any careers out there that are green. I really want to find a career that help with building green homes. When ppl build or remodel their homes, i want to be the one who tells them about green appliances and other futures that will help them with being energy efficient and tell them how much money and energy they will save and how much will their house appraisal go up, if desired to sell. Like a Eco Consultant i guess. Or i want to be the one who helps ppl change their lifestyle to a green lifestyle (like that show WASTED).Please help me find careers that are green and how i can pursue them? THANKS

If this is the path you want to go down...I recommend an architectural/engineering school......A vastly growing feild for woman (what once was about %90 men is now more like 50/50)

Generally, these schools teach about the latest materials and methods that involve "green" supplies (solar stuff, environmentally safe materials and such).,,,

To be in a positon to reccomend these types of "green" appliances and such, you don't have to be a architect or engineer, but working for one  will get you involved in the homeowner-designer relationship and it allows you to suggest these things...

I think this is fantastic and we need more people to get involved without the government "forcing" us to do ti through more laws.

Government jobs may work too....but I think most of those jobs are about "enforcement" and making sure companies comply with certain envirnmental laws.......not so much on the buildign side.

You could get a job with the governments environment department or become a architect . I  watched a show where the architect designed a green house for a couple .Good for you what a great choice and how nice to hear people who care .congratulations you will do great with such a positive attitude .
