  1. Park in a street in one of the nicer areas such as Gosforth or Jesmond and then get a taxi to the airport

  2. Have a look at the 'Purple Parking' website .... it costs less than you think to park at the airports.

  3. Park in one of the terraced streets near South Gosforth metro station, and get the metro in. Your car will be safe and it won't cost you a penny. (Not the street right next to the station, though, as it's permit parking only.)

  4. It would probably be cheaper to get a taxi or even the train/metro to the airport instead.

  5. We usually book into an hotel (inexpensive) close to whatever airport, the evening before the holiday - High Street travel agents can do this for you.

Have a leisurely evening, courtesy transport to the airport and back, car parking free for 2 weeks while away.  It works out no more expensive than airport parking, and sometimes cheaper.  The hotel parking is often secured by a barrier as was the last one we used close to Heathrow.

It does mean that you have no last minute rushing, no frantic trying to negotiate your way through a busy airport.

  6. Just pay the money you cheapskate.

  7. I see what you're saying. Youd best of be paying £20 - £30. Since you can pay 50p an hour. I think you should just pay the full price which I did, you can really put your faith in them car parks to look after your car. If not you should leave it with some family,   or get your family to take you up. Or just park the car somewhere around Newcastle
