Looking for cheap hotel or BB in Dublin near temple bar?

don't stay at the harcourt (no offense)- it is very loud and a bit shabby feeling.

the aston hotel is in temple bar, facing the river on the quays, and is a tried-and-true favorite. my brother found it on a backpacking trip and could afford it, and my family has stayed there ever since. i lived in ireland for a year after college, and found it to be a reasonable place while in dublin for concerts, before trips, etc.

really reasonable price, lovely staff, residents bar, good location, safe, and oddly quiet for its proximity to rowdy bars in temple bar.

Try the river house hotel i stayed there for a weekend about a month ago, really cheap good breakfast and right in the heart of the temple bar area. if your looking for a good bar try oliver st john goggartys absolutely amazing in there live music on the second floor, you cant miss it.
