  1. Have you given any thought to home schooling your child.  I battled with the public school until my daughter was in the sixth grade.  She had a 4.0 grade point and was deemed by the school as 'brilliant', but had a diagnosis of Pervasove Developmental Disorder, (mild autism just short of Aspires) She has major sensory integration issues and social anxiety that was making her physically sick!!  In their defense the school really did try to develop a program for her even though the state would not deem her in need of special services, but it just did OT work.  finally in the middle of sixth grade I withdrew her from school and began homeschooling.  It is the best decision I ever made.  I then went to our local CAP center who tested her and offered her occupational therapy that is helping her cope with her sensory issues and social skills.  She is still in contact with all of her friends from school, is a member of two 4-H clubs and we are active with other homeschool families.  In this situation I am in control of her social exposures, and who knows how much social interaction she can handle better than me.  Id love to talk further about this, you can email me directly at glorianne@hughes.net.  The email associated with this account belongs to my daughter so I won't see it!!
