Looking for elopement/ small wedding packages in/near Michigan.?

Question

We have both been married before and even though we would love an authentic Scottish wedding, we realize it is unrealistic. We want something memorable and inexpensive. He wants his close family and I want something that we can remember. If we aren't going all out, I want it to be intimate and special. Also important that it isn't tooo far for family to travel. Any ideas?

More info PLEASE!  We live in a big state!  I live in Michigan too, but it can be a 12 hour car ride from the tip of the Upper Peninsula all the way down to the Lower Peninsula.....so....WHERE exactly are you thinking when you say "in/near Michigan?"

And.....where does your family live?  (So that I can suggest some place.)

Edit your question and I will get back to you.  We live in a beautiful state, so I will certainly be able to come up with some ideas.

I am a wedding officiant in NW Indiana, 10 miles from the Michigan border.  I would be happy to assist you if you would like.  When are you planning on getting married?  There is a very nice hotel where I have done weddings near the Michigan border.  If the wedding is not too large you could have the wedding and reception there.  Feel free to email me.

Hi,

I was in South Haven, MI not too long ago... they have a Celtic shop right near the beach (Biddy Murphy's), and they were telling us how you can book a beautiful wedding right there on the beach. I don't know how that drive would be for you, but my now-husband and I definitely considered that as a location. Any of those towns (Grand Haven, Saugatuck, etc.) would be beautiful.
