Hello,

I teach at a Pre-K program in a local church, where money is tight I am trying to find free printable sight word booklets. I have already found www.hubbardscupboard.org/printable_bookl... and its great. Again trying to save money on photocopying I am looking for books that contain two or more sight words (I have been doing 2 words a week) any help you can give is great! Thanks!

  1. Please think of something else.  This a not a great way to teach sight words.

  2. depending on how many copies you are going to need, why not make your own

You can insert the desired font size in most word programs, I have printed up to size 200 font!

You could even make them by hand, some markers or crayons and even brown paper bags could be cut up to make books.

Consider enlisting other parents to each make a book to share with the others.

  3. Hi, I'm a teacher, plus I have two kids, ages 3 and 5. I'm learning as I teach that the best way to engage kids is to involve them in the process. I'm sure there are tons of lists of sight words out there. Choose two or so and have the kids make their OWN books. No photocopying at all! They can write the word, or even trace your dotted print. They can draw the meaning of the word and color it, or glue string or beads along the letters--any number of things. But if they're not involved with the process they won't get what the point is. And if you hang on to their copies, you can make a book out of three or four of their projects.
