  1. Marrakesh is a Moroccan restaurant that's right in Belltown in downtown Seattle.  It's on 2nd and Bell and is a great restaurant and a really fun experience!  I love to take people here!  You've got luxurious pillows on the floor you can sit on (or you can also sit on some benches at some tables).  The food is really excellent and a sumptuous treat for the taste buds!  There's also belly dancers, but they aren't there all the time, who dance in the dining room area.  It's really a fun time!

Ipanema is a Brazilian Steakhouse restaurant.  The food here is fantastic!  The reason I'd say it's quirky is that you can get the "buffet" where the waiters bring around cuts of meat, from sides of beef and pork, prepared in different ways, to lamb and shrimp and more, all cooked perfectly!  You have a pair of small tongs and they'll bring over this side of meat and you take the tongs and pull off the meat that they are cutting right from the roast to your plate!  This is the place for a meat eater to call home for the night!  They've also got great plantains and the salad bar has a lot of really good stuff!

Great happy hours:  In Northgate, there's Stanfords, a relatively new place that has excellent super-cheap burger meals during happy hour!  A few bucks for a burger and fries that are not McD's quality!  Ohana, on 1st right downtown, has great happy hour prices on appetizers (I think $2.50!) and a $2.50 drink also!

  2. Ivar`s is a personal favorite. Great clam chowder!

  3. I like The Melting Pot. It's not unique to Seattle, but it is fun, and definitely quirky.
